COP VICTORY IN CHOUMUHANI
Mujib’s Claim
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the General Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami League and a COP leader, claimed here last night that in the Electoral College Elections of Choumuhani police station in the Noakhali district yesterday, the Combined Opposition Parties scored a big victory, reports PPA.
He said out of the total of 13 seats, the COP captured 10 while the Independent and the Convention Muslim League got 2 and one seats, respectively.
Sheikh Mujib further stated that the COP nominee, Mr. Mohammad Abul Hashem, defeated the District Convention Muslim League Secretary, Mr. Sirajul Huq, while another COP nominee, Mr. Abdul Khaleque defeated the Thana Secretary of the ruling Party.
