Sk. Mujib Arrested, Granted Bail
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami League, and a COP leader, was arrested on Saturday morning at his residence in Dacca.
The arrest was made on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued against him by the Additional District Magistrate of Dacca.
He was later granted ball for Rs. 2,000 with two sureties of like amount.
A sedition case under Section 124 (A) PPC has been started against him. Specific charges against Sheikh Mujib are not yet known. He has been directed to appear before the additional District Magistrate, Dacca, on November 20 next.
It may mentioned that three more cases against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are pending.
