Mujib’s Rejoinder To Waheeduzzaman
Karachi, Sept. 18 (PPA): Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami League, today said he was ready to put up a nominee to have a trial of strength with the Central Commerce Minister Mr. Waheeduzzaman in the Ministers’ constituency in East Pakistan on adult franchise basis.
In a rejoinder to the reportedly challenges thrown by the Minister in Peshawar yesterday Mr. Mujibur Rahman said that the outcome of the contest would be much that Mr. Waheeduzzaman will never again utter the word challenge.
He said the Minister would meet the same fate as in 1954.
The Awami League leader offered to retire from politics if ruling party could muster 20 per cent of the votes in a referendum on the adult franchise issue in East Pakistan.
