Mujib’ Condition To Support Ayub
Karachi, Aug. 2 (PPA): Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Secretary East Pakistan Awami League, said here “We will definitely consider the unanimous election of president Ayub for a second term if the rulling party accepts the Opposition’s nine-point programme for restoring democracy in the country.
He told PPA that the combined Opposition would oppose all candidates to the electoral college who refuse to sign the nine-point programme.
Mr. Rahman was confident that all the five opposition parties would select a presidential candiate unanimously in their meeting scheduled to be held in September in Karachi.
Asked about the prospects of the Opposition’s victory in the next elections, he said all the candidates of the ruling party would lose their security money if elections were held on the basis of adult franchise.
