Chittagong, June 7, (PPA): Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary, East Pakistan Awami League, called upon the people to unite under the banner of Awami League for the achievement of their rights, democracy and due share in finance for the province.
Sheikh Mujib who arrived here from Feni was addressing a public meeting at Karer Hat, 47 miles away from Chittagong. He said, “democracy and the share in finance for East Pakistan are the two prime factors for which Awami League has launched the movement.”
He criticised the Government action against students and demanded withdrawal of all restiction orders and cases against them.
Later in the evening a similar meeting was also held at Abu Torab under the Mirsarai thana.
Maulana Tarkabagish also addressed the meetings.
