PAKISTAN PLUNGES INTO GRIEF
Ayub condoles death

Karachi, dec. 5 (APP): Mr.H.S.Suhrawardy’s death in Bairut today cast a pall of gloom over the country and people from all walks mourned the loss of a “dynamic personality”.
President Ayub, who is on a visit to Karachi sent a condolence message to his daughter Begum Akhtar Sulaiman.

The news spread fast and wires service and newspaper office received inummerable calls inquiring about the departed leader.
Condolence messages by Ministers, public men and members of legal profession described Mr. Suhrawrdy as “greatman”, a “great patriot” and a “great Pakistani”.
Hundreds of people visit Lakham House, the residence of Mr. Suhrawardy and the Sulaiman’s to offer sympathy to the bereaved family.
The news was received in Karachi with a shock. The family and friends of Mr.Suhrawardy had been receiving letters from Beirut which raised hopes of Mr.Suhrawardy’s early return to Pakistan in improved health.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a trusted Lieutenant of Mr. Suhrawardy and a former General Secretary of the Awami League when conveyed the news of the death of his leader felt so overwhelmed that he could hardly speak.
The same was the reaction of another Lieutenant of the late leader, Mr.Zahiruddin, a former Central Minister.
