Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, addressing the meeting, criticised the Constitution and recounted what he termed as the ‘achievements of Martial Law regime.’ He also referred to some of the recent statements of Central Minister Mr. Waheeduzzaman and East Pakistan Governor, Mr. Monem Khan, and ‘reminded them of their limitations.’ He also urged the Governor to remain ‘above politics.’
Earlier at the Workers’ Convention he also emphasised that the workers of all parties should forget their past differences and equip ourselves with the arms of public opinion to drive out the enemy of democracy.
