Sheikh Mujib Says
West Pakistan People Support National Front

The National Democratic Front has the support of an overwhelming majority of the people of West Pakistan, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman told newsmen at a press conference in Dacca yesterday (Monday).
Mr. Rahman who was in the team of East Pakistani leaders touring West Pakisan on a mission to seek public support for National Front said that the people there were also in favour of a democratic constitution.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was to have addressed a public meeting in Dacca yesterday (Monday) afternoon in protest of the reported attempt on Mr. Suhrawardy’s life in Gujranwala on Friday returned here from Karachi yesterday morning.
The public meeting was cancelled by the conveners in view of the inclement weather.
Mainly concentrating on the Gujranwala incident in his press conference Sheikh Mujibur Rahman said that both East and West Pakistan leaders, were convinced that it was a planned conspiracy to kill Mr. Suhrawardy.
Giving his version of the happening, Mr. Mujibur Rahman said that Mr. Suhrawardy along with Mr. Qamruzzaman and Mr. Amjad Hussain. Two East Pakistani MNAs, had left Lahore on the morning of September 28 for Gujranwala. An enthusiastic crowd gave a rousing reception to Mr. Suhrawardy on his arrival at Gujranwala at about 11 a.m.
The alleged attempt on the life of Mr. Suhrawardy took place at the time he was about to step in a……… car.
