এ দিন স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশে মন্ত্রী-সভা সম্প্রসারণ ও রদবদল করা হয়। খোন্দকার মোশতাক আহমেদ কে পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রীর পদ থেকে আইন ও সংসদ মন্ত্রী দায়িত্ব দেয়া হয়। পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রী হলেন আবদুস সামাদ আজাদ। অন্যান্য নতুন মন্ত্রী হলে সর্বজনাব শেখ আবদুল আজিজ, ফণী ভূষণ মজুমদার, অধ্যাপক মোহাম্মদ ইউসুফ আলী ও জহুর আহমেদ চৌধুরী। বিপ্লবী সরকারের মন্ত্রীদের মন্ত্রনালয় দায়িত্ব অব্যাহত থাকে। (পরিশিষ্ট দেখুন)

The Jailor of the Dacca Central Jail, Mr Nirmalendu Roy said that the day Pakistani Army surrendered, Mukti Bahini men came and freed all the 3,266 prisoners in the Jail. They included about 650 sentenced by the Martial law authorities. Among them were Pakistan Civil Service officers, doctors, politicians, journalists and, writers. There were seven security prisoners, including Mr Charubhusan Chowdhury, and associate of Gandhiji, and Mr Sunil Bose, and industrialist.

He assured the people of Bangladesh of full Protection of fundamental human right.

-Andre Malraus, French writer and former Minister, in an open letter to President Nixon has bluntly asked him whether he thought; that if his most powerful Army in the world” was not able to defeat the destitute peasants of Vietnam, the Army of Islamabad could recapture a country set a flame by its independence, fighting 1,200 miles away from its bases, reports PTI.

‘Bhutto-Mujib Talks Begin “শিরোনামে সংবাদে প্রকাশিত হয়ঃ- Talks between the Pakistan President, Mr Z A. Bhutto and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman began here (Rawalpindi) in an annexe of the presidential residence where the Sheikh is under house arrest informed sources said today reports AFP. The sources said that the conversation was brief; describing it was a preliminary contact, Further talks are expected to take place during the weekend and early next week. The Sheikh was reported to be in good health; after being shifted on Wednesday from Lyallpur Jail where he had been detained for nearly nine months after the army crackdown in the eastern wing. -Bangladesh Government and Awami League circles have opposed the demand by the National Awamy party (Wali group) Chairman, Mr Muzaffar Ahmed, for fresh elections. They stick to their stand that the verdict given by the people during the last elections must prevail in independent Bangladesh. Mr K.M. Obaidur Rahman. MNA and Social Secretary of the Awami League said it would not be advisable to form an interim coalition Government. Although “some political parties” had adduced. Mr Rahman is of the opinion that now the people and the parties should unite to ensure the release of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
