YAHYA KHAN APPOINTS SPECIAL ASSISTANT
President Yahya Khan had appointed Mr. Abdul Mottalib Malik as his Special Assistant for displaced persons and relief and rehabilitation operations in East Pakistan, acording to the Pakistan Information service here.
In his capacity as Special Assistant to the President Dr. Malik will have the rank of a Cabinet Minister with headquarters at Dacca, capital East Pakistan.
This appointment is intended to further facilitate the reurn of the displaced persons and ensure coordination of all relief operations. As Special Assistant Dr.Malik will be in a position to give decisions on the spot in Dacca on behalf of the President of Pakistan and keep the President constantly posted with the progress of relief and rehabiliation operations and implement the Presidents diresctions.
It may be recalled that Dr. Malik was the senior most Minister in President Yahya Khan’s cabinet.
