BHUTTO NOW READY TO ATTEND ASSEMBLY SESSION 

YAHYA KHAN WARNS AGAINST DIVISION 

 

Rawalpindi, March 8 (Rtr).

 ZULFIKAR ALI BHUTTO, chairman of the left-wing Pakistan’s People’s Party, said Saturday his party would attend the National Assembly session called by President Yahya Khan on March 25 in Dacca.

An earlier threat of a boycott by Bhutto’s party brought about a postponement of the assembly’s session by President Yahya, who was now resumoned the House.

Bhutto, speaking in Karachi, stressed his party had made all possible efforts for understanding with the Awami League in the Eastern wing to ensure a constiution agreeable to all provincs of Pakistan.

Bhutto described the deaths in riots East Pakistan as most tragic.

Bhutto said that responsibility for any difficulties now arising in the assembly over constitutional issues would not lie with his party.

He said he was ready for discussions before commencement of the session of March 25, provided there was some response from the other side.

Bhutto claimed that his party has only demanded a brief postponement of the session for discussion in the interest of national solidarity.

He denied charge by the East Pakistan leader, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, that he was obstructing the transfer of power to the peoples’ representatives.
