FIGHTING FRONT
On the fighting front the Press Trust of India reported that “Bangla Desh Liberation Forces” had stepped up their guerilla attacks on the Pakistani Army and killed at least 30 troops in one action in the north-western Rangpur district.”
In another action in nearby Rajshahi district, the Bengali fighters captured an army jeep and destroyed two heavy lorries, it said.
Quoting “Information from across the border” PTI said the Pakistani soldiers, including an officer, were killed in a commando raid in Lalmonirhat sector of Rangpur district Wednesday.
At Subapur there was an exchange of fire between two sides, the agency said. Skirmishes were also reported in Comilla district in the eastern region.
According to the agency a Pakistani platoon travelling from Kalachandpur in the southwestern region to Beghogia and Rudraour was intercepted by “freedom fighters”.-Reuter DPA and AFP.
