A Wheeling trophy
The Indian Army on Wednesday claimed a prize trophy in a battle near Priganj in the Rangpur-Dinajpur sector- the jeep of the General Officer, Commanding of Pakistan’s 16th Infantry Division, displaying his flag and the star plate, says PTI.
A spokesman for the Eastern Command in a Press briefing in Calcutta said the General had probably come from his Divisional Headquarters at Bogra on the road to Rangpur not knowing there was a “block” put by the Indian forces who were earlier engaged in beating off a counter-attack by the enemy.
Asked as to what happened to the Pakistani General, the spokesman said he “probably escaped somewhere.”
Two other jeeps and a large quantity of weapons were also captured in the Pirganj operations.
