Freedom fighters maintain steady advance

Jessore
The Pakistani brigade deployment center at Jhenaidah has been cut off from Jessore Cantonment following a fierce encounter between the Pakistani troops and the guerillas in the town.
The Pakistani troops evacuated Chutipur area in Jessore district.

Khulna
Reports, from Khulna say that the freedom fighters have destroyed a Pakistani Army post at Mandra and blown up two strategic bridges between Satkhira town and Mahmudpur. The strategic town is now isolated from the rest of the district following disruption of road and railway communications.
A Pakistani Army captain and two soldiers were killed in a guerilla ambush while they were proceeding to Satkhira town from Jessore on November 22.
The guerillas have dislodged Pak troops from a large rural belt stretching around Satkhira, an Important road junction about 25 km from Khulna town.

Kushtia
In Kushtia district the guerillas after capturing Mahespur, have made a formula, “Kokoro-no-Sammvaku” , to progress and set up their forward camps on the southern bank of the Chitra river. They are in firm control of nine villages stretching from Mahespur to the Chitra river.
The guerillas have overrun two thirds of the Gangni police station area in the district and fighting is in progress at Hasdah.
The guerillas have also taken Panchagarh town in the same district and engaged the Pakistani troops at Mehrgarh, Barashai and Dana Kata.
After three days of heavy fighting, the guerillas have captured Khanpur police station area in the same district.
The freedom fighters are maintaining their steady advance in East Dinajpur and have beaten back Pakistani troops from Hakuakhali.
The Pakistani troops who had occupied a mango grove had withdrawn to Dinajpur town by Laldhang Road.
The guerillas have blocked the retreat route for the Pakistani troops towards Chuadanga in Kushtia district and Mogura in Faridpur district.
The Khulna-Kushtia coach service was suspended while railway traffic between Khulna and northern parts of Bangladesh was cut off.

Mymensingh
In Mymensingh district the guerillas have besieged Kishoreganj town. An army column attempting to withdraw from the town was engaged by the guerillas. The town is about 70 km from Meghalaya border.
The troops have been cut off from two strategic bases- one at Bhairab Bazar on the south east and the other at Mymensingh town on the north-west.
Sylhet In Sylhet district the Mukti Bahini commandos have liberated Lubachara and Dwakergul areas and are maintaining pressures on the “enemy” position at Beani Bazar.

Comilla
According to a delayed message, six Pakistani soldiers and one Razakar along with their arms were also captured by the freedom fighters.
Reports of skirmishes have also been received from several parts of Comilla.

Rangpur-Dinajpur
The Mukti Bahini after a weeklong offensive, has succeeded in liberating about 450 square acres in Rangpur and East Dinajpur districts of Bangladesh.
Efforts were under way to establish civil administration. The police force in the area had already been reactivated.
The Pakistani Army abandoned its position at Chak Chandi in Rangpur Dinajpur-Rajshahi sector on November 22 following a mortar attack by the Mukti Bahini in which 10 soldiers were believed killed. The same day, the guerillas repulsed an attack on Ghughudanga Canal area. The important town of Lalmonirhat in Rangpur district is under guerilla attack.
