250 Pak troops and 45 Razakars killed

MUJIBNAGAR, Sept. 3. Mukti Bahini guerilla operating in the eastern sector have killed 256 Pakistani troops and at least 45 Razakars since August 25, reports PTI.
According to a spokesman of the Bangladesh Government the guerillas destroyed 12 enemy bunkers, a red bridge at Tilakpur and sank 10 enemy boats. Over 100 enemy troops and Razakars were injured seriously in encounters here, the spokesman added.
The areas where the Mukti Bahini launched sporadic attacks on the enemy troops are; Qasba, Manda Bagh Nayempur, HarimangLa, Mia Bazar, Koteswari and Jalupara in Comilla and Kalikapur and Charimal in Sylhet.
In the Jessore sector, Sripur Police Station under the district was liberated late last week. 13 policemen, including the officer-in-charge of the PS and 14 Razakars were arrested here. Besides, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was also seized, the spokesman added.
Another report says, a fully loaded cargo launch was sunk in Daria (Chittagong district) on August 28 by Mukti Bahini guerillas who recovered Pakistani currency worth Rs. 24,000 besides a large quantity of Army supplies.
In Khadimnagar (Sylhet), Punjabi and Pathan troops were involved in yet another clash over looted property on August 24. Both sides freely used sticks and stones resulting in injuries to at least five of them. Following this clash, the Pak Army Authorities were reported to have put the offenders in solitary confinement.

BRIDGE DYNAMITED
A report from Gauhati says : Mukti Bahini guerillas dynamited a vital rail bridge at Durgapur and Belabari and a road bridge on the Chilmari-Kurigram Road at Rangpur in the northern sector of Bangladesh on August 30 completely immobilizing army movement in the sector according to reports reaching there today from across the border.
The guerillas killed 32 Pakistani troops in Udalkati in a raid, destroyed two speed boats and a launch and several river craft on August 29, the report said.
Our Staff Correspondent from Agartala writes : The Press release issued by Tripura Government gives the following incidents of Pakistan firing at the border areas in Tripura during the period between 24th August and Sept. 1 last.
On August 24th Pakistani Army fired 120 mm mortar from Sobhapur at 10.45 p.m and they landed 200 yards of Srinagar BOP in Sabroom sub-division.
On August 31st a Pak shell blasted in the sky at 1.45 p.m. at Belabor under Kotwali Police Station. Five rounds of bullets were fired at 2.45 p.m.
On August 28th Pakistani Army from their position at Madhuram opened intermittent firing at Indian territory between 9.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. Some of the bullets that fell in the Indian territory injured two evacuees in Srinagar village.
