Intruding Pak saber jets chased away
SHILLONG, SEPT, 17 (UNI) – Two Pakistani saber jets which violated Indian airspace in the Khasi-Jaintia Hills area about 9 a.m. yesterday were chased away by Indian Air Force planes, reliable sources said here today.
The planes are believed to have come from a base near Sylhet, in East Bengal. This is the first confirmed case of intrusion by Pakistani aircraft on this border.
The sources said there was “increasing evidence” of Pakistani air activity near the eastern borders during the past week.
Unidentified aircraft were seen over Tura in Garo Hills, last month. The aircraft were said to be flying in the north-south direction at a great speed.
