Ships Sunk by Mukti Fouj
From Our Agartala Office, SEPTEMBER, 2- Two more foreign ships carrying arms and ammunition for the Pakistan army were sunk by Mukti Fauj commandos on August 24 in the Chittagong port area, according to reports from across the border.
With severe damage to a rail bridge at Mohanganj-one of the biggest rail bridge in Bangladesh – the commandos have disrupted the direct rail communication between Chittagong and Feni from August 30. On the same day the commandos blew up an army train carrying 100 Pakistani troops and ration, arms and ammunition at Maharajganj and disrupted the telecommunication on the Saldhanadi-Fakirhat demolishing several poles.
Heavy fighting between Mukti Fouj volunteers on one side and Pakistani troops and Razakars on the other has been going on from Kasba to Feni.
At least 1,500 Hindus and Muslims left Patiya thana area in Chittagong last Sunday for India following fresh atrocities on villagers by Razakars, who now work as advance party of the Pakistan army.
A sizable portion of the evacuees from Patia have already arrived in Tripura According to them, more people are on the way to India from the countryside of Chittagong.
Meanwhile, reports from across the border say that Mukti Fouj has been fiercely fighting Pakistani troops in Comilla and Kasba sectors for the past seven days. During this period Mukti Fouj volunteers killed nearly 250 Pakistani troops and Razakars and sank 11 country boats carrying Pakistani troops and army ration.
A Pakistani platoon headquarters in Kasba area was razed to the ground by heavy intense firing by the Mukti Fauj commands on August 29 according to a report received from across the border. adds UNI.
Skirmishes of the soldiers were heard from the guerilla firing positions and flames were also visible.
The report added that the headquarters comprising huts and bunkers had been built on the railways line to accommodate Punjabi soldiers concentrated in the area.
The report before this operation said the guerrilla killed 20 razakars and six Punjabi soldiers when they laid an ambush in the area.
