Pak troops active on cease-fire line
From Our Own Correspondent, SIMLA, AUG 19 – According to authentic reports the Pakistani troops have been carrying on intense military activities all along the international border and cease-fire line in Jammu and Kashmir. These reports say that all along the border there are a large number of pillboxes. fix-holes and barricades have been constructed and behind these defense installations the Pakistani troops have fixed anti-aircraft guns, long-range guns and recoilless guns.
Besides, deep and wide canals have been constructed in various vulnerable sectors and filled with flood waters to strengthen the positions.
The Pakistani rulers are positively preparing for a showdown with India after the rainy season is over.
Almost the entire civilian population have been evacuated from along the border areas with India and movement of civilians along the borders has been prohibited from dusk to dawn.
These reports said that only those persons who had been allowed to live in these villages were actively collaborating with the Army authorities. The Army authorities are trying to send their agents as smugglers into India. The Indian Security Forces have recently shot dead two Pak spies when they were trying to cross into the Indian territory at dead of night.
