Guerilla Squads Active In Dacca & Suburbs
AGARTALA, JULY 11- The Mukti Fouj which has effectively extended guerilla activities to the capital city of Dacca itself and neighboring areas during the past three days is keeping the Pakistani Army in constant harassment and panic because of the heavy casualties inflicted on them in the sporadic grenade attacks, reports PTI.
Reliable reports emanating from across the border said 20, Pakistan troops including an officer, were killed and five others injured in grenade attacks by the liberation forces on a Pakistani defense position at Bibir Bazar near Dacca and in New Market area of the city on July 7 and 8 respectively.
Liberation fighters also hurled some hand-grenades inside the Gulistan Cinema Hall at Dacca and killed three West Pakistanis on July 7.
Yet another grenade attack on the court building at Narayanganj on July 8 left five persons severely injured. Soon after the attack Army reinforcements in considerable strength were deployed in different parts of Narayanganj.
The Liberation forces have also disrupted industrial production in and around Dacca by causing dislocation in power supply in many places particularly in the Tongi industrial area.
Seven Punjabi police Personnel lost their lives when the Mukti Fouj raided the Matia Bazar police station in Camilla sector recently.
