BSF Officer Killed

KRISHNAGAR, June 27- A junior commissioned officer of the Border Security Force was killed when a mine laid by Pakistani infiltrators exploded at the bordering village of Nashirapara in Nadia district this morning. It is officially learnt, reports PTI.
The mine went off when the officer was passing the site during patrolling, the report said. Meanwhile, the West Pakistani troops continued their aggressive activities on the Indian border unabated today when they shelled Petrapole this morning.
The Border Security Force took up positions and effectively silenced the Pakistani guns. During the four-hour encounter, the Pakistani troops used mortars and machine-guns.

DAWKI SHELLED
Pakistani troops began this morning unprovoked firing outpost of Dawki in khasi Hills district of Meghalaya on the India-East Pakistan border about 80 Km south of Shillong.
An authoritative source said tonight that the Pakistani troops started rifle and machine-gun firing early this morning and continued intermittently throughout the day. Firing was continuing when last reports came in tonight. Casualty on the Indian side. If any were not immediately known.
Reuter adds : President Yahya Khan will announce in a nationwide broadcast tomorrow plans for a return to civilian rule in Pakistan.
