Pak Army opens fire near Karimganj

From Our Own Correspondent KARIMGANJ, JULY, 4 – The Pakistani Army opened fire near Baga on the Karimganj border, about 12 kms from Karimganj town, without any provocation yesterday. The Pak troops were seen to be strengthening their recently-made bunkers at Zakiganj. Only 100 yds from Karimganj town. The Pak troops have engaged a large number of Muslim Leaguers in the work.
Some armed ansars followed three Bangladesh nationals and fired on them when they were entering the Indian border at Tukergram village. Indian security forces returned fire causing the death of three answers. Firing from both sides continued for more than three hours. This morning also Pak troops shelled Indian villages near Karimganj.
The guerilla commandos have been active in their operation in the Sylhet sector. During the last seven days, guerilla commandos blew off tea factories and managers’ bungalows at Suntala. Dilkhush, Khurha and Dhamai tea gardens opposite Karimganj border and killed 12 Pak soldiers. Commandos blew off the Beanibazar Thana building and some important bridges in the Latu area.
About 40 Pak soldiers were killed in guerrilla operations during the last seven days ending July 3.
