Mukti Fouj kills 100 Pakistani soldiers

From Our Agartala Office MAY 30- With its intensified commando activity the Mukti Fouj continued to harass the Pakistani Army during the past 48 hours. At several places from Feni in the south to Ashuganj in the north, the Mukti Fouj inflicted heavy casualties on Pakistani troops, according to reports available across the border. Besides, 100 Pakistani soldiers including 4 officers, were ambushed and killed by the Mukti Fouj.
The freedom fighters also blew up three rail and one road bridges, damaged a railway engine, destroyed two mortars and several vehicles.
Rail communication to Ashaganj from Comilla is still disputed after the successful demolition of the rail bridge at several places.
Reports of atrocities by the Pakistani troops have continued to pour in. They are still torturing civilians and looting and burning villages. At Majdi, in Noakhali four student leaders who were killed have drawn up a list of 35,000.
The West Pakistani soldiers include leaders, workers and students some of whom have already been arrested. Their fate is unknown.
Mr. Krishna Debnath writes from Sundarbans: The Pakistani troops retreated from the territory they were occupying near Ghojadanga in the face of strong Border Security Force fire, which began last night and continued this morning. While retreating, they lost nearly two companies, most of which were wiped out in Mukti Fauj attacks at Gayeshpur.
A gun-boat carrying Pakistani soldiers was sunk by the Mukti Fauj south of the Sundarbans Fighting continued for 35 hours here and ended with the retreat of Pakistani troops towards Satkhira. At Bhomra corpses of troops were still lying and the retreating soldiers disfigured the faces by using acid to prevent identification.
The Mukti Fouj also blew up a bridge near Kumarghat, PTI adds: The Bangladesh liberation forces have reoccupied almost the entire northern sector of Sylhet district, the largest of the districts in Bangladesh.
