Guerrillas kill 200 Pak troops
From Our Own Correspondent AGARTALA, JUNE 13- Mukti Fauj commandos during the past three days, had killed over 200 Pak soldiers at different places in Noakhali Comilla and Sylhet sectors. They have also captured some arms and ammunition. The commandos damaged two steam launches near Brahmanbaria and burnt two Pakistani flags flying over the Community hall at Kalisina Para Several Pak Army agents were killed on June 9 and 10. The commandos are also rendering social services to the terrorized fleeing people.
PTI adds: According to reports reaching Krishnagar from across the border, heavy exchange of fire between the Mukti Fauj and the Pakistani army, which started yesterday was still continuing near Bhomra opposite to India’s Godadanga as also near Benapole opposite to Petrapole on this side. adds PTI.
After a gallant fight the Mukti Fouz took hold of the Inhakali border outpost in Kamdevpur village three kms from Meherpur town.
Pakistani troops have started scoring operations in all villages located within about eight kms from the 110 km-long India-East Dinajpur border, according to border sources.
About 250 villages are involved in these scorehing operations. About 10,000 huts and kutcha houses are estimated to have been burnt already.
· The Pakistani troops were seen destroying mud and pucca houses using a highly illuminative. Chinese-made gas near Raskahoa border and opening fire to away the villagers. They were also seen destroying jute crops to eliminate any cover for ambush for the Mukti Fauj guerillas, the sources said.
According to these sources, large-scale destruction of jute crops by the Pakistani forces was observed recently near the Goalpokhar border where Mukti Fouj guerillas had been operating from their hideouts.
The Mukti Fouj however claimed that despite such clearing operations they were frequently ambushing and attacking the troops in and around Thakurgaon and Pochagarh areas.
They claimed to have destroyed six Army vehicles and killed 30 Pakistani soldiers in surprise raids last week. They said 20 Pakistani agents and quislings had also been killed during this period.
UNI ads : Pakistani troops have occupied the hospital at Mirzapur. One of the biggest in Pakistan after driving away all the patients including several expectant mothers, according to arrivals in Krishnagar from the town. There were about 1,000 patients in the hospital when it was occupied.
Pakistani troops again fired on the BSF positions near Petrapole in the small hours of today, adds PTI.
According to reports reaching here, the BSF returned the fire and the exchange continued for about half an hour. There was no casualty on the Indian side.
