Pak troops fire on evacuees
The Pakistani Army fired on a batch of evacuees from Bangladesh who had just entered Indian territory after crossing a temporary floating bridge connecting Pragpur in Bangladesh and Shikarpur about 58 miles from Krishnagar on Saturday, reports agencies.
Three evacuees were injured in the firing and were removed to hospital.
In a sweeping offensive, the Mukti Fouj guerrillas killed at least 20 Pakistan soldiers and wounded several others at Kurigram town in Rangpur district on Thursday.
According to a Mukti Fouj commander the gorilla commandos launched the sudden onslaught on the “enemy army” when some 50 of them were patrolling the town.
