Bangladesh trying to get planes on loan
NEW DELHI, JAN. 5. – The Bangladesh Government is making efforts to get Boeings and Fokker Friendship aircraft on Loan from friendly countries for its International Airlines to be known as Bangladesh International Airlines. It was learnt here today from official sources, reports UNI.
The airline is likely to start its operation with six Fokkers and two Boeings.
Out of the 52 Bengali Pilots and Navigators originally working for the Pakistan International Airlines, 32 are now available in Bangladesh for operating the new airlines.
Most of the airfields including Chittagong, Bogra and Rajshahi have now been repaired and are operational.
Pabna airfield which was badly damaged during the war, would also be serviceable soon.
