From Our Staff Reporter, DACCA, DEC. 22- The central office of the Mujib Bahini High Command has been set up at Sgt. Zahurul Haque Hall (formerly Iqbal Hall) in Dacca University. The Mujib Bahini is a part of Mukti Bahini and is composed mainly of the students politically committed to Awami League programme and ideology. The High Command consists of Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani (Mujib’s eldest son) , Shirajul Alam Khan, Abdul Rezzaque and Tofail Ahmed.
Farid Ahmed, President of the Pakistani sponsored Peace Council has been arrested by the Mukti Bahini. He was taken into custody from his hide-out at Amilgola Lane in Jajira area of Madaripur by a local Mukti Bahini Commander Mohammed Fazlur Rahman on the basis of information given by the local residents. He was handed over to the Mukti Bahini Commander in Dacca.
Postal service in Bangladesh has been restored and this includes normal functioning of all the post offices including night post offices throughout the country. Postal communication between India and Bangladesh has also been established and the first exchange of air miles between the two countries took place on Tuesday.
New Bangladesh stamps are now available in the post offices in the country. But the Government has ordered that old postage stamps bearing the inscription who had returned were in urgent need of corrugated sheets, tents, tarpaulins and Bangladesh will also be in use.
