Dhar arrives in Dacca
From Our Staff Reporter, DACCA, DEC. 23-Mr. D. P. Dhar, Chairman, Policy Planning Committee. Indian Ministry of External Affairs, accompanied by Lt. Gen. Aurora, GOC-in-C. Eastern Command, India, Mr. Asoke Roy and Miss Arundhati Ghost of the Ministry of External Affairs touched down at Tejgaon Airport at 11 a.m. (Bangladesh time).
Mr. Dhar and party were received at the airport by Mr. Farook Ahmed Choudhury, Chief of Protocol, Bangladesh Government. They were whisked in a car to Bangabhavan.
Mr. Dhar said at the airport: “I bring here the good wishes of Mrs. Gandhi, our Prime Minister and the people of India” He hoped that the Bangladesh people would continue their task of building up the nation with the “same resolution” they had shown during the liberation struggle.
Mr. Dhar met the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Khandakar Mushtaque Ahmed and formally presented his eredentials to the Acting President Syed Nazrul Islam, In the afternoon.
PTI adds: Mr. Dhar called on Begum Mujibar Rehman and conveyed to her the personal invitation from Mrs. Gandhi to spend a week in Delhi with her (Mrs. Gandhi).
Mrs. Gandhi also suggested if Begum Rehman wants she may like to visit the Ajmer Dargah Shrine.
