Bangladesh swimmer’s bid for World record
Bangladesh swimmer Arun Kumar Nundy who hails from Chandpur sub-division of Bangladesh and is a disciple of the world famous swimmer, Mr. Brojen Das is engaged in an endurance swimming for 90 hours in the College Square pond, Calcutta to break the world record. This effort has been sponsored by the local Chandpur Sammilani and organized by Bowbazar Bayam Samity. On Friday the 8th October, Mr. M. Hossain Ali, High Commissioner for Bangladesh in India inaugurated the splash-in ceremony.
Arun Kumar Nandy who began swimming at 08.35 hours on October 8, 1971 with the blessings of those present including Br. Brojen Das is still continuing in good health. He is likely to finish his 90-hours endurance swimming in the early hours of October 12.
