Bangla stamps
The first series of eight Bangladesh postage stamps will be issued on July 29. These stamps are to replace the Pakistan postage stamps hitherto overprinted Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Government has authorized the international distribution of these stamps. This first series will be used for internal mail as well as for external postage.
The eight separate designs for this series depict the struggle for Independence of Bangladesh. The designs are the work of Mr. Biman Mullick who won two international gold medals for the best Gandhi stamp issued by any country in the world.
The stamps are printed by lithographic process on white-coated security paper. The Bangladesh Philatelic Agency will sell these stamps to British philatelic traders at their face value.
