350 Chinese troops arrive in Bangladesh

MUJIBNAGAR, JULY 20 – About 350 Chinese troops have arrived in Bangladesh to help the Martial Law administration in various ways. says UNI.

The troops arrived at Chittagong by a Pakistani ship on July 5 and proceeded to Chandpur the same day. Some of them were engineers and the others commandos.

This was the first time that Pakistan has inducted Chinese troops into Bangladesh and they are considered symbolic of China’s promise to stand by Pakistan over the Bangladesh issue.

It is believed that the Chinese troops will help the military administration in restoring communication and training Pakistani soldiers in anti guerrilla tactics.

The ship also carried about 100 West Pakistani police personnel and a large quantity of equipment and stores.

In addition it brought a large number of civil administration personnel from West Pakistan.

Meanwhile, A Pakistani crew has taken delivery of three coasters in China, reports Radio Pakistan according to a UNI dispatch from New Delhi.
