Mujib & other leaders hold talks in Lahore: All express satisfaction

LAHORE, Feb 24: The Awami League Chief, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today said he was satisfied and happy over his discussion with three independent leaders, Air Marshal Asghar Khan, General Azam Khan and Syed Mahboob Murshed.
Talking to newsmen before his departure for Rawalpindi, he said all the three leaders had expressed their anxiety to solve political problems facing the country.
During his five-hour stay the Awami League leader also had brief discussion with Malik Ghulam Jilani and other members of his party.
Air Marshal Asghar Khan who also expressed his satisfaction over his talks with Mr. Mujibur Rahman, told newsmen that he was leaving for Rawalpindi tomorrow where he would meet DAC Leaders and put forward certain suggestions to them.
He said that after his discussions with DAC leaders alone he would be in a position to decide whether or not he would participate in the conference.

Air Marshal Asghar Khan also told newsmen at his residence who had gone there to know about the talks, that he was satisfied over his talks with Mr. Mujibur Rahman.
Lt-Gen Azam Khan also expressed satisfaction over his talks with Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
In a Press statement he said: “We discussed a number of important national issues and in particular the conference being held in Rawalpindi in some detail.
“I am confident after talks with Sheikh Mujibur Rahman that in all the issues that will be discussed we shall maintain the interest of the nation above all. The national demands are quite clear and we shall work to restore the sovereignty of the people.
