Mujib, Bhashani urge Pasban to settle dispute with journalists

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has called upon the management of the daily Pasban to settle the dispute with the working journalists who are on continuous strike for the last 87 days for the realisation of their demands, reports PPI.
In a Press statement Sheikh Mujib said: “I am gravely concerned to learn that the journalists of the daily Pasban are on continuous strike for the last 87 days for realisation of their legitimate demands. It is unfortunate that the management of the daily Pasban has shown intransigence in settling issues with the working journalists who I am told are on a starvation point. I call upon the management to settle the issues to the best interest of the working journalists, the management and the reading public in accordance with the Wage Board award.”

BHASHANI
In a separate statement Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani said the working journalists of the daily Pasban, who are on strike for the last 87 days for pressing their rightful demands to implement the Wage Board of the working journalists in daily Pasban, are facing starvation due to the stubborn attitude of the Pasban management. The Government has also failed to implement the law relating to the service conditions of the working journalists at daily Pasban. I strongly demand the management to end the further exploitation of the working class and settle the issue immediately.”
Meanwhile the striking journalists of the daily Pasban staged a demonstration in favour of their demands in front of the Pasban building at Motijheel Commercial Area yesterday and demanded the implementation of the Wage Board award without further delay.
