Bhutto wants power transfer for west wing
NEW DHELI, MAY 21 Pakistan Peoples party chairman, Mr. Bhutto, said he accused political and econonsituation in the in the country when met the President Yahya Khan yesterday in Karachi reports Radio Pakistan says UNI.
He told newsmen it was his firm belief that effective and proper participation of the people’s representatives was the only way to solve the problems facing the country. Mr. Bhutto said he did not agree with those who say that power should be transferred to people’s elected representatives simultaneously in both the wings of Pakistan. Initiation of the process of democratization in one part of the country, he said would accelerate the process throughout the country. The radio also quoted the Qayyum Muslim League President, Mr. Qayyum Khan, as opposing the proposal of piecemeal transfer of power. Addressing a meeting near Bannu yesterday he said the transfer of power should be simultaneous in both the wings. The general secretary of West Pakistan Jamiat-ul-Ullema-e-Islam, Ghulam Ghaus Hazarvi, said his party did not want partial transfer of power at his stage. The transfer should be immediately effete after normal conditions had restored in Bangladesh.
