People Urged not to listen to Rumours
By A Staff Reporter, The West Bengal Home Secretary, Mr. M. M. Kusari, appealed to the people on Thursday not to listen to rumours. Mr. Kusari, who was broadcasting from AIR’s Calcutta station, said : “It is extremely essential that while undue complacenc should be avoided, there should be at the same time no panic”.
Mr. Kusari who stressed the need for civil defence preparations, asked people particularly to take air raid warning signals “with all serioulness”. People, as soon as they hear the warbling note of sirens, should take shelter and all vehicular traffic would come to a standstill until the All Clear was sounded.
