Keating Back In Delhi, Kissinger Due Today

From Our Special Correspondent New Delhi, July 5. —Mr. Kenneth B. Keating, the U. S. Ambassador, who arrived here today from Washington on the eve of Dr. Henry Kissinger’s visit tomorrow, has no plans to leave his Delhi post.
A spokesman of the U. S. Embassy denied reports that the Ambassador had offered his resignation in protest against the U.S. arms supplies to Pakistani after the outbreak of the conflict in Bangladesh. The Ambassador, the spokesman said, proposed to stay the length of his term here, “promoting closer relations between the USA and India.”
The rumour about the Ambassador’s resignation was set afloat by a Washington report to that effect. Mr. Keating apparently came to know of it only on his return here today, after four weeks of consultations in Washingon.
Dr. Kissinger, a top Presidential aide and adviser on national security affairs to Mr. Nixon, arrives here in the afternoon tomorrow. He will spend the better part of the afternoon in consultations with Mr. Keating. His talks with Indian leaders will keep him occupied the whole of Wednesday.
Starting with his meeting with the Foreign Secretary, Mr. T. N. Kaul, in the morning, he is due to meet the Foreign Minister, Mr. Swaran Singh, the Planning Minister, Mr. Subramaniam, the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister, in that order. He leaves next morning for Islamabad.
