Six-pointers firm : No talks without Sk. Mujib

The six-point Awami League will not participate in the proposed constitutional talks without the presence of the party chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the conference table, reports APP.
This was stated in Dacca Thursday night by the Acting General Secretary of the Awami League Mr. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury MNA.
Mr. Chowdhury alongwith three other members of his party, one of the eight components of the DAC met Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan Wednesday to discuss the President’s offer for the round table conference with the Opposition leaders, said that Awami League would not agree to accept the President’s move without the presence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said that they placed their view points before Nawabzada and told him about their demands for the release of political prisoners, withdrawal of political cases pending before courts and tribunal and lifting of state of emergency as the steps for creating proper atmosphere for the talks.
