Nasrullah meets Mujib for 2 hrs.

NAWABZADA NASRULLAH KHAN, CONVENER OF THE DEMOCRATIC ACTION COMMITTEE, HAD A TWO-HOUR MEETING WITH AWAMI LEAGUE LEADER, SHEIKH MUJIBUR RAHMAN, AND DISCUSSED WITH HIM THE POLITICAL SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY IN THE LIGHT OF PRESIDENT AYUB’S OFFER FOR A DIALOGUE ON CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUES WITH THE OPPOSITION.
After the meeting which was held in Dacca Cantonment where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is under military custody he told newsmen, “I am satisfied with my talks Mujibur Rahman.”
Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan was accompanied by pro-PDM Pakistan Awami League General Secretary Mr. Zaheeruddin and three top Six-point East Pakistan Awami League leaders, Mr Nazrul Islam, Acting President, Khondokar Mushtaq Ahmed, Vice-President and Mollah Jalal Uddin at the meeting.
The Nawabzada said that he would again meet Sheikh Mujibur Rahman “within a day or two” and further discuss the situation. In reply to the question as what was the reaction of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to President Ayub’s offer of dialogue with Opposition on national issues Nawabzada said, “I had general discussion on the political situation in the country”. He however, said the East Pakistan Awami League (Six-point Group) will put forward the views of the party in the Central DAC meeting scheduled to be held in Dacca on February 9.
The DAC Convener who was to meet Mr. Mozaffar Ahmed, President East Pakistan National Awami Party (Requisitionist Group) now under detention in the Dacca Central Jail, yesterday is still awaiting the reply of the Home Department, He said, “I hope I shall be able to meet Mozaffar Ahmed tomorrow (Saturday”, but that depends on what the East Pakistan Home Department decides. He said, “I had already submitted a written request to the Home Secretary”.
Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, who is currently holding series of “consultation meeting” with East Pakistan leaders belonging to the newly formed Democratic Action Committee after receiving letter from the President to nominate the list of representatives for the proposed round table conference on constitutional issues is also expected to meet President Ayub in Dacca.
Responding to a question as to whether he would meet President Ayub in Dacca, he said, “It would be decided by the Central DAC”.
In reply to the question whether he would contact leaders outside the DAC, he said, “This will also be decided by the National Executive of DAC”. He however added “I would like to meet Moulana Bhashani and discuss with him the political situation”: He said they were trying to contact the Moulana and hoped that “tonight or tomorrow” they would be able to contact him.
Moulana Bhashani is scheduled to leave Dacca for Khulna to attend the Council meeting of the East Pakistan National Awami Party at mid-day today.
Meanwhile the Opposition leaders continued their discussion on the issue of participation in the proposed round table conference on constitutional issues.
