Murshed demands release of Mujib, Bhutto, Wali Khan

SAHIWAL, Feb. 2:-Mr. Justice Mahboob Murshed Former Chief Justice of East Pakistan High Court, has demanded the immediate release of Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaikh Mujibur Rahman Khan Abdul Wali Khan and other political and students leaders besides creation of an atmosphere of peace and fraternity by the Government for the long overdue round-table conference with the Opposition leader ship, reports PPI.
He was addressing a meeting of the local bar association here yesterday.
In his address at Okara and later at Sahiwal, he stresset, this point many times and demanded that in the proposed dialogue with the Opposition there should neither be a whittling down of the demands nor any secret negotiations with individuals.
Whatever was to be argued must be argued in the open and before the whole nation, he added.
The former Chief Justice of the East Pakistan High Court called upon the Government not to see refuge behind any subterfuge.
The Government, he said, should accept without delay. Opposition demands which were righteous in nature and few in number. If there was to be any argument it should be merely on the methods of implementation of these demands, he added.
Dispelling the years of separation of the two wings of the country, Mr. Justice Murshed said Islam constituted indissoluble link between the two wings and the question of their separation did not at all arise. East and West Pakistan were united under the banner of faith which formed the foundation of nationhood, he declared.
