Asghar lauds role of Mujib in Pakistan Struggle
LAHORE, Feb 20: Air Marshal Asghar Khan said here today that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had played a significant role in the creation of Pakistan as a student leader.
Addressing a reception arranged in his honour by the National Students Federation here this afternoon he said that he did not believe that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was not a patriot. The Sheikh had spent ten years in jail for being in the forefront of the Pakistan movement, he added. No one could arrogate to himself the right to call others unpatriotic.
The Air Marshal said that the background of the “Agartala Conspiracy Case is well-Known in the political circles.”
Though he was not aware of the legal aspects of this case, yet he said that the unity of the two wings was of paramount importance. With that aspect in view the Sheikh Mujib should be released, he urged.-PPI
