Pakistan lost war on Dec. 10, says Singh
FEROZEPUR, Jan. 4.- Pakistan had lost the recent war with India as early as on December 10 when General Farman Ali, the then Advisor to the East Bengal Governor, had offered to transfer power to the elected representatives belonging to the Awami League, the External Affairs Minister, Mr. Swaran Singh, has said, UNI reports.
Addressing a congress workers’ meeting here yesterday evening he said, Pakistan’s President. Mr. Z. A. Bhutto, who was attending the UN session at that time, telephonically advised Gen. Yahya Khan not to surrender at the instance of the USA.
Pakistan could have stood united had its friends like the U.S.A. and China persuaded the Pakistani Military junta to stop the genocide and negotiate with India on the refugee problem.
India’s immediate recognition of Bangladesh had proved that the country had no territorial designs and it treated Bangladesh as a sovereign country, he added.
