India Cannot Be Cowed By Threats, Says P.M.
UNDHAMPUR (Jammu), Sept, 6.—Mrs Gandhi said today that India could not be intimidated by any threat from any quarter and added : “We are strong enough to give a fitting reply to whoever ventures to disturb our peace, solidarity and integrity”, reports UNI.
This was what she stressed at cost.”
She pointed out that although the fight for freedom was going on in East Bengal it was also affecting India as about a million people had taken shelter on this side of the border.
PAK LIES
Referring to the Pakistani propaganda that India was not permitting the refugees to return to East Bengal, Mrs. Gandhi said it was known to the whole world that Pakistan itself was not allowing the refugees to return.
Quoting an instance, she said a group of 58 refugee boys from Meghalaya camp were tempted by the Pakistani authorities to return but all except five were slaughtered by the Pakistani Army before they could reach their destination.
