Swaran Singh meets Kosygin
MOSCOW, June, 8.-The Soviet Prime Minister. Mr. Kosygin, had a meeting with the Indian External Affairs Minister. Mr. Swaran Singh, today UNI reports quoting TASS.
The Soviet Foreign Minister. Mr. Gromyko, chief of the Department of South Asia at the USSR foreign Minster, Mr. Fomin and India’s Ambassador in Moscow, Mr. Durga Prasad Dhar, took part in the discussions.
In Tokyo, India’s Education Minister. Mr. Siddhartha Shankar Ray. said today that during talks he found the Japanese Prime Minister. Mr. Eisaku Sato, and other leaders “fully aware” of the gravity and seriously of the situation cerated by Pakistan’s Military crack-down on Bangladesh.
Mr. Ray, now in Tokyo in course of his tour of the countries of the far cost to apprise leaders there of the real situation in Bangladesh had detailed discussions on the question today with Mr. Sato. The Finance Minister, Mr. Takeo Fukuda, and a parliamentarians.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jayaprakash Narayan, the sarvodaya leader, now on a mission round the world to apprise others of the situation in Bangladesh, held talks with Mr. Joseph Sisco, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern and South Asian affairs, in Washington yesterday.
Mr. Narayan later told newsmen that “unless there is a real political rapprochement with the people of the Awami League, there can be no political solution.”
Our special correspondent in New Delhi writes. Mr. M. A. Samad, Bangladesh’s roving ambassador, told newsmen today that he was satisfied with the talks he had with the leaders of many European countries.
Mr. Samad, who had attended the recent peace conference in Budapest and visited several European capitals, said that these leaders had expressed concern over the large-scale and unprecedented by the occupation forces of General Yahya Khan in Bangladesh.
