Demonstration against US arms supply
RAIGUNJ, July 8 Several hundred Bangladesh evacuees today demonstrated against US arms supply to Pakistan when the threemember Canadian Parliamentary team and an Irish MP visited the Malan camp near here today, reports UNI.
The evacuees shouted slogans like “Stop supplying arms to butcher Yahya Khan” and “Swadhin Bangla Zindabad” as the visitors were going round the tents.
The Canadian MPs were Mr. Heath Macquarrie, Mr. Andrew Brewin and Mr. Georges Lachance. The Irish MP was Mr. Conrad O’Brien.
The refugees insisted on the visitors speaking a few words to them and Macquartie said The and his colleagues would do everything in their powers to mitigate their difficulties.
