Pakistan wants genocide to continue : Tripathy

SHILLONG, June 8.-Assam’s Finance Minister, Mr. K. P. Tripathy said today that it is time for the big world powers to withhold all kind of assistance to Pakistan until the Yahya Khan regime stops genocide on Bangladesh and normalises its relationship with the leadership there, says UNI.
In a statement here, Mr. Tripathy said, “If they do not do that when they have the whip hand, it would be justified to conclude that they want the massacre in Bangladesh to continue.”
“It is now two and a half months since the army started genocide in Bangladesh. It is already critical for the economy of Pakistan. Without fresh massive help, both in the shape of army goods, and consumer goods. Pakistan will not be able to maintain the army operations and the civilian economy.
About recognition to Bangladesh. Mr. Tripathjy said. “People forget that the suzerainty of Bangladesh has been established not in one small area but on the whole of the State of Bangladesh. The Chief Justice refused to administer the oath, the judiciary revolted along with Bangladesh leadership and 99 per cent of the MLAs joined the liberation war. The entitre police and the Border Security Force including Deputy Commissioners and Superintendent of Police revolted bringing the whole administration to a half, so far as West Pakistan was concerned.”
“Bangladesh leadership continued to run this administration with the assistance of banks. the transport system was paralysed, the factory workers struck work bringing production to a halt. The occupation army of Pakistani became prisoner in their own cantonments and could move only by helicopters.”
“The military might at present clouds the position. But it cannot continue for more than four months without the assistance of international powers.
“Therefore, all people who love democracy and secularism and hate mass murder and genocide will withhold assistance from Pakistan.”
