Peace Council plans for Bangla reconstruction

NEW DELHI, DEC. 23.—The World Peace Council is canvassing support for an international conference for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Bangladesh, reports PTI.
It is also arranging to send an expert team to Bangladesh for an on-the-spot study of the situation. The Council is already in touch will the Bangladesh Government.
This was stated here today by Mr. Harsh Dev Malaviya, Secretary of the Peace Council.
Mr. Malaviya, who is in charge of the Asia desk at the Council headquarters in Helsinki, had a meeting with Mrs. Gandhi a few days ago. He apprised her of the work the Peace Council had done for world peace and for liberation of Bangladesh.
During his visit to several European and Latin American countries. Mr. Malaviya said he found a lot of sympathy among the people for the objectives for which the people of Bangladesh were fighting. But unfortunately this was not reflected in the start of their respective governments.
He said he was disappointed by the attitude of the Arab world. It had ignored the reality somehow. However, the Council, he said, was continuing its efforts to make the Arab world see the facts in their totality.
