British MP’s team arrives at Karachi

NEW DELHI, JUNE 22.—A four-member British Parliamentary delegation arrived at Karachi today to make an on the-spot study of the conditions prevailing in Bangladesh, reports UNI.
According to Radio Pakistan, the delegation consists of two former Labour Government Ministers, Mr. Arthur Bottomley and Mr. Reginald Prentice , a former Conservative Secretary of State for War, Mr. James Ramsden and a Conservative M. P. Mr. Toby jessel.
Mr. Bottomley told newsmen at Karachi Airport that he was “eagerly looking forward to meeting President Yahya Khan”.
He said the delegation would assess the quantum of relief aid to be given to Bangladesh.
According to Radio the delegation has come at the invitation of the Pakistan Government.
Mr. Bottomely said the mission will present a report to Parliament on their return.
The delegation will leave for Rawalpindi this afternoon to meet President Yahya Khan.
They will later go to Bangladesh and will also visit India before returning to London.
