PMG Uncertain About Bangladesh Stamps
By A Staff Reporter, Asked whether the Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department would recognize the postage stamps issued by the Bangladesh Government, a spokesman of the office of the PostMaster General. West Bengal Circle, said in Calcutta on Tuesday that it had not received any instruction in this regard from the DiredctorGeneral. P and T. New Delhi, he said in India such recognition could be given only by the office of the Director-General.
The Bangladesh Government is trying to contact the Universal Postal Services Union for recognition of its stamps. The UPSU is the world body which grants international philatelic recognition to stamps issued by different Governments.
