Mujib’s call to observe
Protest Day’ on July 4
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary of the East Pakistan Awami League last night called upon the units of the Awami League in the province to observe July 4, as a protest day “against the imposition of Section 193 in East Pakistan”, reports APP. In a statement Mr. Mujibur Rahman recalled the ten years struggle of the Awami League workers for the “establishment of democracy in the country” and said that still “reactionary forces and self-interested persons are playing with the people and the democracy.” The day, he said, should be observed peacefully by holding public meetings, demonstrations and processions.
