MUJIB WITHDRAWS RESIGNATION
Charges against two ministers to be investigated
From ABDUL WAHAB
Dawn Dacca Correspondent
DACCA, April 6: After prolonged discussions continuing from yesterday the Awami League Working Committee has been able to arrive at a compromise formula this afternoon, which would appear to resolve but only for the time being, according to observers, the dissensions inside the organisation. These dissensions took an acute turn of late following allegations, among other things, of imperfections in two Awami League Ministers as also of neglect of legitimate party interests. These charges, which were brought by an influential group of the Awami League, led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, resulted in further straining the relations between the Parliamentary Party leader and the General Secretary of the organisation. Although today’s solution is a personal triumph for Mr. Suhrawardy, it can be said that the domestic troubles of the Awami league are not yet over; and without appearing as attempting to be little his achievements it is feared among observers that Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan and his supporters and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his followers may clash again on the latter’s return from an AngloAmerican tour on which he embarks tomorrow.
