East Pak Ministry Faces No Crisis

Karachi, Aug. 20 (APP): The East Pakistan Chief Minister, Mr. Ataur Rahman Khan, on his arrival here tonight from Dacca told newsmen at the airport that his Ministry faced no crisis despite recent defections from the Coalition party. He said that only 16 members of East Pakistan Assembly left the Coalition party but lots of members have joined and are joining the ruling party.
His Ministry was as stable as ever he added.
Sk. Mujibur Rahman, General Secretary, East Pakistan Awami League, also arrived by the same plane and made similar claim. In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said the East Pakistan Government has nominated the Provincial Communications Minister, Mr. Kafiluddin Choudhry, to replace Sk. Mujibur Rahman who has recently resigned from the Cabinet, in the National Economic Council. In reply to another question the Chief Minister said the Provincial Assembly was expected to meet sometime in the third week of September
The Chief Minister besides, attending the National Assembly session opening on August 22 will also participate in the National Economic Council session beginning from Sept. 2.
